Dry roast a fistful of Horsegram till lil brown, Keep aside.
In a kadai, take 1 tblesp oil add 12 -15 crushed garlic pods, Fry them until lil brown, keep aside.
In the same kadai,add 5-6 red chillis or according to ur spice level..(U can use red chilli powder also..) fry for a while, add marble sized tamarind n 1/2 cup grated copra or coconut n roast until it turns light brown on a low flame..Make sure it wont get burnt, otherwise ur chutney turns bitter in taste..Add salt as per ur taste..Let all the ingredients to cool.. First put roasted horsegram in mixie jar make coarse powder. Then add other ingredients to it n grind it well… Store it in airtight container once it becomes cool..I usually make in small quantities so that it can b consumed within a week..Best accompany to dal rice, curdrice, Idli, dosas..or simply add to the curds n hv it with paratha or chapati.
