CRAB MASALA – Recipe by Silvia Concessao, Mangalore
1 kg crabs cleaned and washed
For the masala:
1 1/2 tspns jeera
1 ½ tspn pepper
8 red chillies
1 marble sized tamarind pulp
2 big onions
6 flakes garlic
¾ cup grated coconut
1. Grind the masala to a smooth paste.
2. Heat a tablespoon of oil to a vessel and fry finely chopped onion in it.
3. Add to it the ground masala, fry well and add 2 cups of water.
4. Bring it to a boil and add the crab pieces to it.
5. Simmer for five minutes.
