Recipe to Prepare Dali tove / dal in GSB style

As we all accept we as GSB love dali any day for breakfast / lunch / dinner so lets go ahead and learn how to prepare this awesome dish

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup toor dal
  • 5-6 green chilies
  • 3 dry chilies
  • 1/2 tspn mustard seeds
  • few curry leaves
  • Hing(Asafoetida) water
  • 3-4 tspn oil
  • salt for taste

Method :

  • take one liter of water and keep it for boiling
  • add one cup of cleaned toor dal to this when water is boiled
  • slit green chilies into half vertically and add it
  • once dal is cooked add salt accordingly and few curry leaves
  • once bubbles arrive switch of the flame and set it aside

Tempering(Tadka)

  • in a small pan add 3-4 tspn of oil and 1/2 tspn of mustard seeds till mustard seeds starts popping
  • now add dry chilies cut into small pieces and few curry leaves into the pan

now add tempering to pot of cooked dal, Hing(Asafoetida) water and close the lid
rest it for 10 minutes with lid closed and your dal/dali tove / dali toy is ready.
