King prawns sukka

Ingredients : 

  • 1/2 kg king prawns
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 1/2 tomato chopped
  • 1 inch ginger chopped
  • 3-4 garlic flakes crushed
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves few springs
  • 1 dry red chilly 
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp chilly powder
  • Salt to taste

For the dry paste:

  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • A pinch fenugreek seed
  • 1/4 tsp of mustard seeds
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
  • I tsp tamarind paste

Method:
Grind all the ingredients under dry paste except the grated coconut and tamarind paste. Make a fine powder. Now grind the other ingredients until u get a fine coarse paste of coconut. Keep aside.

Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds, garlic, dry red chilly and curry leaves.

Add onion , green chilly and ginger and give a stir.

Now add chopped onions and cook for 5 minutes until it get soft.

Now add cleaned prawns, chilly powder, turmeric powder , salt and mix well.

Add half cup of water and cook cook the prawns closing the lid for 10 mins on a medium flame

Once the gravy is thick add the dry paste and cook again for 5-6 minutes.

Prawns sukka is now ready to serve.
