Recipe to prepare chattambado

Chana dal – 2 cups
Green chilles -4 or red chilli pwd-2 tsp
Kashmiri red chillies-2(chpd)
Peppercorns-3 crushed
Curry leaves- 2 strands(chpd)
Hing pwd -1 pinch
Dill leaves-4 tbsp(chpd)
Coconut cut in small pieces-2 tbsp
Salt to taste
(Can add kashmiri red chilli pwd for colour,optional)
Method : 
Soak chana dal for 2 hrs in water.Sieve ,remove water completely.In a mixi,put chana dal,green chillies or red chilli pwd,hing.Grind this coarsely not smooth.Take out in a bowl add curry leaves,kashmiri red chillies,dill leaves,coconut chpd,crushed peppercorns,salt to taste.mix altogether well enough.
Take small portions,make balls &press to flatten it & keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan,add the ambodo one by one.Fry till cooked & crisp.Serve with coconut chutney or tomato ketchup.
